Anaïs Siebers

Anaïs Siebers is as an associated researcher of the Desirable AI project at the University of Bonn's Center for Science and Thought. She is currently working with Prof. Dr. Markus Gabriel to complete her PhD in Philosophy with a focus on "Agency in the Digital Lifeworld." Her research initially focused on the technological aspects of knowledge representation, human–machine interaction, and artificial intelligence. She pursued a bachelor's degree in Computer Science with an emphasis on human–machine interaction and subsequently earned an interdisciplinary master's degree in Cognitive Science, which enabled her to investigate her research interests from a less technology-centered perspective. Her current research focuses on the ways in which the digital world shapes subjectivity. In 2025, Siebers became a member of the Desirable AI project, where she continues to explore her respective subjects in an intercultural and interdisciplinary setting.

Desirable Digitalisation

Rethinking AI for Just and Sustainable Futures.
We investigate how to design AI (artificial intelligence) and other digital technologies in a responsible way, placing the questions of social justice and environmental sustainability at the very heart of our work.

Our research program is a collaboration between the Universities of Cambridge and Bonn and numerous international partners, and is funded by the Mercator Foundation in Germany.
