Curtius lecture and IIT workshop with Prof. Giulio Tononi Curtius lecture and IIT workshop with Prof. Giulio Tononi

On the 10th of May Prof. Giulio Tononi (U Wisconsin-Madison) will deliver the 10th Ernst Curtius lecture, which will be followed by a workshop on Integrated Information Theory. The lecture and workshops are open to the public.

Giulio Tononi, professor at the University Wisconsin-Madison, will give the 10th Ernst Robert Curtius Lecture at the University of Bonn entitled Consciousness and its place in nature. He is the main exponent of the Integrated Information Theory (IIT), which – to put it simply – introduces a mathematical measure, Phi, to measure whether a given natural system has consciousness. In his lecture on May 10, 16-18 h (c.t.) in the seminar room of IZPH and CST, Poppelsdorfer Allee 28, Prof. Tononi will illuminate the connection between the neurobiological and philosophical levels of his work.

On May 13 and 14, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Prof. Tononi will give an introductory tutorial workshop on IIT. Both events are open to the public and all interested parties are cordially invited.
